We let Osama bin Laden go
Michael Scheuer, former head of the CIA's bin Laden unit, isn't painting a rosy picture of the Administration's pursuit of Osama bin Laden. Scheuer says, "Our leaders continue to say that we're making strong headway against this problem. And I think we are not."
The scary part is that the Administration was presented at least 10 opportunities to capture bin Laden. Each of those options was rejected. The reasons seem elusive. When questioned by Steve Croft last night on 60 Minutes, Scheuer said we're facing the real prospect of a nuclear weapon explosion in the US. "I don't believe in inevitability. But I think it's pretty close to being inevitable," says Scheuer.
